Our Mission Statement:

At Northern Skies, our mission is to enrich the homeschool journey by providing a welcoming, secular drop-off program focused on history, science, and art. Nestled in the heart of Flagstaff’s majestic Ponderosa Pines, we blend academic learning with the spirit of northern Arizona’s natural wonder. Through hands-on exploration, creative expression, and intentional social time, we cultivate a vibrant community where homeschool families feel supported and students are inspired to grow intellectually, socially, and creatively.

  • Kari Medley

    PROGRAM LEAD/CO-OWNER

With over a decade of experience in the field of education, Kari brings both professional expertise and heartfelt passion to every learning environment she enters. Her journey as an educator has spanned traditional public school classrooms, one-on-one tutoring, substitute teaching, and homeschool enrichment programs. She delights in getting to know each student and discovering how they learn best. As a homeschool parent to three, she understands both the triumphs and the challenges of homeschool life, and she embraces them with creativity, flexibility, and a deep sense of purpose.

Outside the classroom, Kari is an adventurer at heart. She finds peace and inspiration in the great outdoors, yet her favorite moments are the quiet ones—reading, playing games, and solving puzzles with her husband and children. And when it’s time to unwind, nothing beats watching her all-time favorite movie, The Land Before Time. She holds a Bachelor of Liberal Arts with an emphasis in Education from California Polytechnic University of Pomona
